FOCUS GRANT:
WRITING LAB
The grant will fund the purchase of a technology cart outfitted with (25) MacBook laptops to be permanently stationed in the H - Building room 11 at Concord Carlisle High School. It is envisioned that the Sophomore writing program will benefit dramatically from the availability of 25 new computers and help relieve an enormous computer logjam pressure that currently exists. By converting a currently unused closet into a charging station, the H-11 room will become a designated place for Sophomore intensive writing instruction.
The designation of H-11 to permanent writing room will also greatly enhance the ease of access to computers and enable teachers to focus more closely on the elements of writing. The luxury of the computer availability will allow students to make several drafts of the work under the guidance of their teachers, thus affording the integration of student editing with greater teacher interaction.
Enhancing the quality of writing instruction by guaranteeing the regular access to computers will assure the writing skill preparedness required of a CCHS student.
The Sponsor would like to purchase: (25) MacBooks with AppleCare Protection Plans, (1) HP 4014 Laser Printer with HP ProCurveWireless Access and (1) Bretford Computer Cart.
